10/10 best community college! I’ve been going there since 2020 and it’s been fun! They have some of the best teachers I’ve met so far, they’re very easy going, nice, and actually care about teaching other college students. Despite me having to change my major twice, it’s still a fun experience meeting new people and getting to know the community around me plus, the staff helps out students with their studies and their needs such as scholarships, transfer to other universities, preparing classes for next semester and so on.
The North Lake Campus of the Dallas College felt very welcoming. I was coming in as a first time dual credit student and they did very well taking care of me and making sure I was learning and understanding at my pace without making me feel overwhelmed. Both the on-campus and online programs are well organized and managed to excellence. What I would love to see is a broader assortment of foreign language and social sciences courses, alongside an addition of offered Bachelor’s degree through the college. Otherwise, the system is great and my experience thus far has been perfect!
Upon graduating high school in 2020, I immediately enrolled in Dallas College at North Lake campus. Currently, I am a sophomore pursuing an associate of science/computer science. I am having a great experience there; it is mostly a positive environment to pursue an education in. However, the most remarkable and outstanding feature of the school that stood out to me is their network environment and its various student's backgrounds. In the past academic year, I was able to meet incredible individuals with different life experiences and perspectives that shook my view of the world and my career goals. Out of attending Dallas College-Northlake campus, I now tend to look at adversity and challenges from a different lens and learned to utilize my background and upbringing to the best of my advantage and enhance every aspect of my academic, career, and personal life.
