Norwalk Community College is a great start if you're not exactly ready to jump right in to college. I transferred to Norwalk Community College my spring semester of 2023 and I believe it was one of the best decisions I could've made. I went to a 4 year university my first semester of my freshman year and it was overwhelming and very fast paced. Making the choice to transfer to community college turned out to be the transition that I needed. Being at Norwalk, it has allowed me to be more self-paced and a lot more manageable academic wise. I was able to feel myself slowing down and really taking to the time to focus on my work without always stressing. No matter where you go, it may always feel like it's hard to meet people but with community college, Norwalk has showed me that people may be closed off at first but it's more of just putting yourself out there and people will come to. Norwalk is just like any other school. You get the sense of independency, it's just more of a breather!
If you are considering going to a two-year school instead of a four-year school then Norwalk Community College is a great place. They offer lots of opportunities for students such as career expos to help you land a job and practice mock interviews with employers. Though if you are going here, you won't experience the college life you typically would at a 4-year school. The majority of the professors I had were great with a few exceptions.
Campus facilities are inviting, offering students access to various resources such as computer labs, libraries and tutoring; clubs and organizations on campus give students an opportunity to collaborate together towards creating a sense of community.
