I went to Columbus State Community College before transferring to Youngstown State and then to Hodges University due to changes in my living situation. Out of all the colleges I've been to I would rate CSCC about second best. The online courses were well managed as well as the in person courses. The campus is small but friendly; the food sucks at the cafeteria but there's lots of nice restaurants and food trucks near by. The on campus gym is pretty decent too! It's a community college so there's not as much of the typical college social aspect/events but for academics its a great and affordable option, especially if you plan on continuing your education else ware.
The paralegal program is a joke! There are about three instructors that are good and seem to care. Unfortunately, the rest are lazy, disorganized and apathetic. They rarely respond to emails or requests for information and the lessons are more like busy work than anything engaging and enlightening. Administration doesn't seem to care that they are hiring subpar instructors (most are lawyers, private investigators or magistrates!) who seem to think that the paralegal program is beneath them so why bother putting out good content that really prepares a student. Go somewhere else and pay the extra money and get a good, worthwhile education. You'll save yourself a lot of time and frustration. You get what you pay for at CSCC.
What I like about Columbus State is the location. I live about ten minutes away from campus so it makes my commute smooth and quick. I also really liked how eager the professors are to teaching their students, it makes college more enjoyable and learning more fun. I also like that there is a starbucks on campus, as I love coffee! I also like how affordable CSCC is. It makes living and attending school as a 22 year old more manageable.
