The College of Eastern Idaho is a great location to begin your college endeavors! I have been a student here for about a year now and really love the experience. So far my instructors are great! One professor was a little unprepared but given it was his first-semester teaching at CEI it was easy to understand he was adjusting to the campus. However, all instructors here want you to succeed and you see that daily. Campus staff is amazing and is so ready to help with everything from advising to Registration and so much more. The only downsides are the growing pains from the increase in the student body. They have increased some parking areas to accommodate the growing needs of both staff and students. Overall, you couldn't go wrong here.
With the whole COVID-19 situation, my winter 2019 semester changed from on-campus to online to ensure staff and student safety. This was a hurried adjustment but as a whole, it worked out great. Staff accommodated students and made sure that those who were unable to complete assignments were given every chance to work through technical issues and helped those unfamiliar with Blackboard to get guided help. Overall I was able to finish all my classes and still maintain my GPA at a 4.0 all thanks to the teacher's efforts to help students transition to online when this wasn't foreseen.
One thing that stands out at CEI is the help they give the students. Every time I have asked for help, they go out of their way to help me with what I need. I have had some very terrible experiences with schools in the past, and CEI is the best school I have ever received help from. I would 10/10 recommend this school for people who aren't sure what to do with financial aid, applications, tuition, classes, etc. I strongly believe they will help you step by step to make sure you have what you need, because that is what they did for me and I am very thankful for it.
