City Colleges of Chicago - Truman College Reviews
Rating 3.78 out of 5 420 reviews
As a student who hasn't been to a schooling environment for a few years, coming back to school as an adult learner at CCC has been excellent! I felt really connected to my professors and was able to easily reach out to resources such as TRiO, the Access Center, and Transfer center. I was able to maintain high grades and got into a great 4-year school!
I transferred to Truman after one semester at an out-of-state university. Truman College was a blessing in disguise and opened endless doors of opportunity for me. While there is less "hand holding" by staff and faculty at Truman compared to other universities, it pushes students to learn self-advocacy and to take advantage of the resources themselves. Students came from all parts of Chicago, some from different parts of the world, and completely different walks of life. The student diversity offered elaborate discussions to take place in the classroom and exposed me to new points of view. I was a student here at the peak COVID-19 and the amount of emotional and financial support provided by the school was beyond helpful. The Star Scholarship made CCC one of my best financial decisions. Truman staff puts students' future at the forefront and continuously encouraged students to strive for greatness beyond CCC.
As someone who has taken classes for continuing education and for college credits I would say overall City Colleges- Truman College is a good institution. The admissions office was great when applying to Truman and the advisors are patient. The professors can be hit or miss in terms of explaining the content well. However, that will be seen everywhere.
