I am going to be a senior in the 2023-2024 school year majoring in criminal justice and criminology. Overall I have had an amazing experience at Castleton University, the professors are amazing and so much fun to work with, there are so many opportunities to get involved on campus such as the Student Government Association which I am a part of as the Chief Justice of Student Court, there is the Multicultural Club and Spectrum Pride which are two very inclusive clubs, and if there isn't a club on campus that interests you you can create your own very easily! While Castleton does have many options for food when it comes to dietary restrictions, as someone with celiac disease the staff at all our dinning options have been amazing with working with me to make sure I have food to eat and have even brought in new stuff for me to try. Castleton has been amazing and the people here are all very nice! I have had a great time here!
I first graduated from Castleton University in 2015, with a Bachelor's of Science in Communications. But I had always secretly had a passion for medicine and working with the people. I continued my education, obtaining an Associate of Science in Medical Assisting, and I fell in love! Being able to perform vitals, different diagnostics, and making people feel comfortable, made my days worth while. Although I did not pursue a career in the Communications field, my background and frequent patient interaction came in handy.
But since working as a medical assistant for about two years, I decided to go back to my alma mater, to pursue a career in nursing. Castleton University has been known to not only have a tough program, but an overall rewarding experience. Our nursing professors are very tough and understanding people, who only want to see us, as the future of nurses, succeed and change lives for the better. I hope when I graduate, I will be well prepared as a future nurse!

Small school with a very big heart. They aren't the best at anything, really, but the faculty and staff will care for your kids as if they were your own as they transition to the confusion of adulthood. This is a place where working hard stands out and you are never lost in the crowd. Sometimes this can be a bad thing. Professors bend over backwards to help students and are mentors more than anything. Definitely experienced some less-than-ideal situations with a handful of professors, but the lack of frats and sororities makes campus life a bit less treacherous than other places. There are quirks, and the food is absolutely awful. The cost of tuition is also inflated. Administration could use some work. Otherwise, this was a great place to start life and they launched me into graduate school with their McNair Program. They care about diversity and equity a lot for a small Vermont town. No real need for police involvement, relatively safe campus and area to hike, run. Highly reccomend
