My experience here overall was very good. I've made lifelong friends, many of whom are my professors from in-person classes! I absolutely never would've imagined I'd make it this far. I'm horrible at math, and I can honestly say that Prof. Talia (Branham-)Williams taking time to explain that it's just a matter of solving each problem as though it's a puzzle, and you've been given it simply to see if you're mature enough to persevere until you solve it instead of breaking down & quitting. Sorry, but I cannot praise this lady enough. There were a lot of tears, but she was a game changer for me. If I made an A in College Algebra, I can do anything. All I've got to do is remember that. :)
Carl Albert State College provides higher education for affordable prices. It also offers nice residential rooms, and a variety of clubs, activities, and opportunities to have a full college experience. It's ranked as the best community college in Oklahoma and has exceptional graduation rates for a two-year college.
I've had a few online classes or hybrid classes here at CASC. Some of them were entirely too much reading & writing for someone who is doing online class just for the simple reasoning that they don't have time to be consumed with a lot of "fluff" in their educational pursuit. As a single mom of a 2 year old, who lives 2 hours from campus yet still has on-campus classes and work there- I wish we would've just gotten to the "meat & potatoes" part more in one particular class. Further, I've had 1 or 2 where it seemed apparent to me that the Professor had no idea what they were doing with BlackBoard and probably shouldn't be an online format teacher until they complete some more workshops. :/
