I love the small class sizes which make for interactive and engaging classes with quality professors. There are lots of events from different organizations throughout the semester and your level of involvement is however much you wish to be involved. I would like to see more appreciation for the professors from the administration. Though the professors care a lot, there's only so much they can do when they're spread thin due to department cuts. Despite this, the new leadership gives me a lot of hope!
Completely unsafe. Multiple students robbed at gunpoint, people walking into dorms armed with malice. Mold in the dorms. Terrible parking. Terrible athletic support.
Canisius is a welcoming and heartwarming place with a thriving academic and athletic community. The Griffs are hardworking and driven individuals.
Canisius College was a great way to spend my four years. I was far from home, but because Canisius is a small school everyone there became like family. The small class sizes make for a condusive learning environment with professors that truly care about your success.
I love canisius so far they treat their students like family. Always looking out for their students. Canisius also has a lot of fun events which allow the students to be engaged in the campus and get to know new people.
Canisius was great for the most part! I would say I had a great experience there, but it is a very average school. Your experience really is what you make of it. If you want to get involved and do things, you're going to have a great time. If you don't get out there, it's going to be very boring. Thankfully, there is lots of opportunity. The class offerings are pretty run of the mill. I enjoyed mine a lot, but there wasn't anything super cutting edge or unique. There is a lot of opportunity to travel through clubs, sports, volunteering, and study abroad options. There is always free stuff on campus which is awesome. The food is subpar, but has gotten a LOT better since my first year. The diversity is getting better, but isn't great. The alumni network is strong and Canisius really tries to take care of its people. The dorms are AMAZING in comparison to some of my friends at schools for 100k/yr. Parties are meh. Safety is alright. It's an urban campus and I never felt unsafe.
The area surrounding the school is not the safest area. There is not a large party scene but there are good ones if you really search.
My overall experience with Canisius College was pretty good. I enjoyed the experience of getting to visit the college and get to meet some of the students and the president. Also, I enjoyed seeing the campus because I got an idea of the part of the building I would be. I wanted to see the dorms and that was really important to me because I want an idea of what the dorms look like and how big or small they would be.
the visit was amazing! the campus is so big and diverse and is right in the town of buffalo. The advisors are really helpful when giving us directions and answering questions we have.
Canisius College provided a close-knit, beautiful campus with amazing academic and athletic facilities and opportunities for me. The staff were amazing at teaching and interacting with students. The location of the college provided great opportunities for me to further my education in sports related medicine along with my athletic goals.
Great for individuals looking to go into medicine, teachers are very helpful and the courses are challenging which has prepared me for the DAT.
I like the campus atmosphere I just wish there were more available scholarships within the school for student of all types.
As an incoming graduate senior from high school I was very scared for my first year of college. However, Canisius college helped decline this fear by easing me in with fun activities, introductions, and explanations on how important self care is during your time there. That was one of the best things that would help me suggest other students to applying here because they don't only care about your success but they also care about you as a person. The staff takes the time out of their busy lives and work to spend some extra time in helping and making sure you understand. The school also offers many opportunities such as internships aboard or places near you that will help your future. Even if you express a feeling of maybe you need to leave school for whatever personal reasons you may have they talk to you, offer services such as on school counseling, and they'll even help and comfort you through the process if that's something you're finalizing. Attending Canisius has been a good.
Canisius was a very homey experience for me. The professors and staff ensure that everyone feels welcome. The quality of the teaching and classes available are exceptional.
I really enjoyed most of my teachers, but I really enjoyed working with the different staff around the school. They want to get to know their students and make you feel really comfortable. The sanitary staff as well as the dining hall staff are some of the best people you will ever meet. The clubs available on campus are vast, and if you put your effort into the school, you will see a return. The diversity is growing at the school, but the ALANA center is available to any student of color who is looking for a space to connect with other students of color.
I love how the school is not overpopulated. The professors are very understanding and kind. The only thing I dislike is that it’s not very diverse, especially in a classroom.
I like that they have a lot of activities going on every week to get students involved but most of the time they be on day I have to work so I cant go to most of them
Absolutely loved my first semester and all of my classes. My professors were great and being in the city of Buffalo was so fun.
The campus is outdated and could use some updating. The business school is one of the best in the area and most of the professors are good at teaching the material in a way that allows students to really understand what is being taught.
I wish this school was more diverse. I’m a student of color and I often feel left out and neglected. I’m not bashing Canisius, however, I wish they had a more diverse and inclusive school culture.
