I enjoyed the community that was on campus. The professors and other staff were super helpful when I had questions and guided me in helpful directions to help me further in my learning and overall future. There's a ton of helpful resources available to students on and off campus to guide in one's mental, physical, academic, and spiritual self.
Overall a great place to be! Calvin is really a fantastic choice if you are seeking to pursue academic excellence. Though rigorous, their academic programs are rewarding and personal. Calvin also has their largest class incoming 2023 along with the various additions they have done over the past year and future year to come.
The professors in Calvin University are very kind. As an international student, I just came to the United States, so I was very afraid of everything here. But I felt very comfortable at Calvin University, and I was most worried about my studies. What I didn't expect is that the professors here are very kind and patient. They are willing to help me with all the problems I have in my studies, and also help me with how to improve my English, I really appreciate them. Similarly, the students here are very friendly, and I also thank them for their tolerance. I also like the university environment, I like the big lawn, especially in autumn or spring, sitting on it is very comfortable. And Calvin's big pool, which is really perfect, I really like to go swimming there.
The campus is beautiful, and all of the faculty I’ve ever interacted with have been exceedingly kind and informative. However the campus is quite unaccessible to this with wheelchairs or other mobility impairments, there often aren’t elevators, and the staircases are very narrow. 8/10 would recommend
Ten out of ten, my faith grew exponentially and the community is very intentional. People here really do care about their faith lives and want to see and do good in the world.
The community is really inviting and nearly all the people I spend time with care deeply about both their relationship with Christ and doing well academically. I matured a lot in many different ways here and I'd recommend at least a visit to anyone in the market for colleges.
I chose Calvin Unviersity because growing up I was surrounded by Calvin alum whose character was what I wanted to emulate. During my time at Calvin I learned to think as a student in the classroom, but was also developed into the character I desired. Whether it was a professor or coach you could tell staff at Calvin genuinely cared about you as a person and wanted what was best for your interest.
The environment was welcoming. The student community was a close bond. The campus was safe and well protected. Professors were very kind and easy to work with, Classes were very engaging. As a Christian school, the elements of Christianity were ever-present in everything. However, it was never forced on anyone who did not identify with it.
Calvin University is a welcoming place with so many opportunities that allow a student to expand both academically, spiritually, and mentally. I have met many new friends and gone to events that I would not have otherwise had the chance to. Both now and when my parents went Calvin is teaching students how to live out their dream careers in a way that honors God. Being surrounded by leaders helps me to stretch myself beyond what I thought my capabilities were. From struggling with food restrictions to learning to navigate college classes, I've always had someone near that would listen. I am excited to move forward with my academic career with this university as my guide.
Love the professors here. Most of them are deeply involved in the development and well-being of their students and teach amazingly. There are some outliers, as expected but, in my experience, few and far between.
Beautiful campus and has a good amount of international students. Counselling and Wellness services are great. On campus employment is good but mostly international students work the tasking jobs *they pay higher so maybe that's why. (As an international student, I'd advise that you work the desk jobs.)
On the other hand, administrative staff are hard to deal with and lack good communication with students and parents. Dining hall food also sucks but is doable. Also it is a pwi, so expect to interact with some form racism or white superiority complexes. Overall, 3/5. Not too bad.

I loved the faith based learning and the service focused teaching at Calvin. It has a thriving community and is a really amazing place.
I think the campus is very pretty and well laid out/ The sports facilities are also very nice. I do not think that I would change very much about it other than maybe a little bit bigger dorms and nicer bathrooms that connect them.
Calvin has a welcoming environment. The professors here are really nice and supportive and wants you to grow. The students are mostly Christians so bring a non Christian might be a little difficult
Overall, there is a really great community around Calvin! Professors care for students and academics are very good. As with any University, there are some things that I would change, but overall I really have enjoyed my time at Calvin so far.
It was great. All of the students were amazing. The food was amazing, the class sizes are great i love the grand rapids area.
I was immediately drawn to Calvin University because of how high Calvin's placement rate is. Most of Calvin's students are assured of employment because they have been well-equipped. Calvin's commitment in ensuring that their students are successful in their future careers is absolutely commendable. Calvin also offers superb academic support.

As I browsed through the services offered via Calvin's website, Calvin certainly has
the students best interests at heart. Each service has been carefully designed to assist and equip students with resources and tips to help them excel in their studies as well as a person. As a potential student, I feel very comforted knowing this. Other than the peaceful, lush setting that encircles Calvin, the community at Calvin University seemed to be one that is filled with cheerfulness and warmth. I attended a few of Calvin's online webinars and the professors, along with the student representatives, were extremely
helpful and friendly.

not the worst place in the world. As a Grand Rapids Christian student going to Calvin it feels like I am around the same close minded, christian reformed individuals I have been around my whole life. There are good people it just feels a lot like a high school in college form.
I have really enjoyed my experience at Calvin University. The professors care a lot about your academics and you as a person. It is a great community to be a part of.
Calvin is a very welcoming place. It has many different opportunities that are provide. Some of the opportunities include the different majors but also the activities and help that is necessary to have a good college experience.
