I went into Cal State San Bernardino as an undergrad in 2019 and I majored in Kinesiology and minored in Psyc. In the beginning, I was upset about going here because I'd never seen the campus, and growing up I would hear bad reviews about it. On my orientation day, I was so surprised walking on campus because the campus was just mouth-dropping! I could not believe that the campus was so beautiful. The staff is amazing and the professors for the kinesiology apartment go above and beyond. They say in college that no one holds your hand and that it's your responsibility to push yourself. And yes that is true but here my professors hold my hand and guided me to be a better student and a better studied. I enjoyed every minute of my college life here. When covid hit, it was a challenge but once again the staff just went above and beyond to still make it the best experience. I enjoyed the campus so much that I became a student mentor for incoming freshman and transfer students.
Whether the classes were online or in-person, with the exception of one or two, all of my professors were wonderful! There’s a large variety of resources available to students, and all you need to do is ask! I was a transfer student from a community college and because of how great the Professors and other students are on campus, I didn’t struggle at all.
When I started at CSUSB, I really loved it! It is an amazing school that I completely fell in love with the moment I step foot on it. It is very calm and since it is by the mountains, there is always fresh air hitting your face. There is friendly people always wanting to help and say hello. It is also a big campus and it is nice to walk by it's huge on campus trees that changes leaves each season. There are also many different study rooms you can go to which is something I love because depending on my day, I can either go into a quiet are or an area where's other people around me. The gym is one of my favorite places to go at when I feel stressed or overwhelmed. There is always great help in order for you to succeed. I also love that your mental health is something huge and very important for everyone at CSUSB. The only thing I will like for a bit of chance would be the food. There are great options, however, I would like a bit more food places to go to.
