California State University - East Bay Online Campus Reviews
Rating 4.4 out of 5 10 reviews
My school was the only school, after leaving my community College, that actively recruited me. They began sending me mail and emails before I graduated. Once I enrolled and began school, it didn't end there. They made me feel welcomed on campus. When I experienced personal issues at home that inadvertently affected my schooling, they helped me financially, got me connected with counseling, and many other outreach programs and great resources. The community is very diverse and extremely welcoming. People are so friendly and upbeat. The campus is beautiful and very easy to navigate once you become familiar which should only take a couple of weeks. It's also very safe. Even the air around campus smells good.
All of my classes at East Bay were online. My biggest complaint was with Blackboard, the East Bay online learning portal. Each professor customized the way the class was set up on Blackboard. The lack of standardization frustrated me. This complaint is minor though. Most of my professors utilized the platform well. Some provided written lectures to read, and some utilized videos. Most had a discussion component to interact with other students. Some instructors had more dynamic and interactive discussions than others. Overall, it's been a great experience.
I transferred from a 2 yr community college to East Bay. The transfer was fairly smooth although it did take quite a while for the school to evaluate my transcripts. The financial aid department was very responsive and easy to work with. So far, I've had good professors who have been very responsive. Overall, the school has been very supportive for online learning.
