Fantastic university with everything you could possibly want and need in a college experience. Chico State has some of the best professors and academic programs in the California State University system, and arguably better programs in many of the less well-known majors than some of the UC system schools as well. The student body is full of passion in their areas of study as well as their extracurricular activities. If anyone wants to go to a school where they can get involved in the campus and city community then CSU Chico is my #1 recommendation. Value for the cost of living and tuition is one of the absolute bests, and most other universities are not surrounded by predominantly college student living for a mile surrounding the university. Social development is extremely important when finding a job post college, as well as your academic achievements, and students excel at both at Chico State.
Review California State University - Chico
Chico State is the second oldest California State University Campus. It offers many different majors including: bussiness management, Psychology, Social Sciences, Fitness Studies, and more. The more I visit the campus, the more I fall in love with it. Chico State has such a beautiful, nature- oriented, campus over one hundred different types of plant species. Although their diversity has indeed increased over this past few year, I would love to see more diversity in the campus. Diversity allows people to have a deeper knowledge of other cultures and better understand the importance of being surrounded by different races.
Class sizes are great! The size of the classes are relatively small so the professors get to know your name and you incorporate a closer bond with them. The only thing that does make the Chico experience difficult is when it comes to office hours because there a professors where they make it seem like they don't care about you. From personal experience, I stopped going to some of my professors' office hours because they don't really help you. They mainly just give you your score in the class but even then that is posted online. Some of the classes are half online and half where you go to the traditional classroom so you'll never miss what was done in class so that is convenient!
