I have completed my first semester at California State University Los Angeles and my first year experience has been very positive. The faculty and administrative staff on this campus have been exceedingly helpful in my success as an undergraduate and invested in my post graduate potential. This university offers a range of resources such as a 24 hour computer lab and mental health aid, as well as hosting a variety of cultural events. Student demographics are remarkably diverse; this university is unique in that it is actually representative of the city it occupies. While some students may not like the dominant commuter atmosphere, I find that it provides students the freedom from finding themselves caught in a college bubble that insulates them from the wider community. I conclude that CSULA is ideal for non-traditional students such as working students, community college transfers, parents and DACA recipients.

I am currently a freshman at Cal State LA. My experience so far has been amazing. The campus is diverse which makes it easy to make friends. The professors are great and approachable, making it comfortable to talk to them when you need help understanding the subject better or just need help on homework. Since I commute to school it is hard to find parking which is the only down side. We have on campus security and you always see a security car roaming around which makes it feel safe being on campus. The cafeteria is not big but we do have a variety of food options. We also have Starbucks and three other cafés around campus so you can always find a place to grab something to eat. The library offers places where you can go for tutoring and help writing papers. It has helped me a lot with my English papers. There are lots of groups and organizations that offer a great deal of support and network which makes college much more easier and fun. Overall my experience so far has been great.
Cal State Los Angeles is a very diverse school close to the 10 freeway. it is an easy commute located around Los Angeles. The environment of the school is very upbeat and fun but at the same time academically strong. Their campus is very lively and there are a great number of resources. Their Criminal Justice program is amazing! One thing Cal State LA should improve on is adding another parking building for school.
