My experience at Brigham Young University - Idaho has been absolutely amazing. There are amazing students and professors at this school who want to see you succeed! The class sizes are small and there is more one on one help compared to other bigger universities.
I love this school. It has brought me so many friends and the education is outstanding. Teachers here are amazing and understanding.
I am loving my time at BYU-Idaho, it has all sorts of things for you to get involved in on campus and provide many ways to open doors for internships and jobs connected different fields of study. They also are close many things that you can try on campus and give you the flexibility to work and still take classes.
I love it here so much! I was nervous to start college but my experience here has been amazing and I would recommend this college to anyone. I love how personable the professors are and how much it feels like they truly care about my success. The other students are also incredibly nice and inclusive. The university is very Christ centered and you can tell that they really care about the experience that the students will have.
I love the atmosphere. It feels like home. All the professors are incredible. There are always so many amazing things to do on campus. If you ever need help with a class there are so many people that are willing to help you.
My experience at BYU-I has been a very likeable one. What I like about the school is that they are all about helping the students there succeed. The teachers are always willing to set time aside in their day to answer the questions that students have and clarify anything that may not be fully understood. Not only are the academics great but they BYU-I also has many opportunities to get involved. Whether it be with sports or with academics or clubs there is more than enough here to stay occupied and connected. As for things that I would like to change I would want to see a better connection to students who do online classes. From what I've experienced and seen the online classes can be a bit confusing and lead to some unnecessary confusion which makes the classes a bit harder.
I loved my experience while attending BYU Idaho. I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere that was on campus, the professors and other faculty all have the same focus in helping students succeed. The class sizes are much smaller than the average university, so you have more opportunity for one on one time with the professors and the TA's. The university is also a Christian school, so the focus is on having high morals and a great emphasis on integrity. Overall the university is phenomenal. A change that I would like to see is the track schedule being a little bit more flexible for students. When you apply you receive a track and if you need/want to change it, it's a process that takes a lot of time that is unnecessary to go through. The students that work in the help center are sometimes hard to work with through the process, so that is frustrating.
I had a very hard time. Some days were great, others not so much. Obviously it's an LDS school, but there a lot of LDS members who struggle to uphold the Law of Chastity (more than I was expecting). I haven't been enjoying the weather. It is cold, but the wind, the wind is brutal. And loud. It keeps me up at night. Also, unless you come with a group of friends, it is easy to feel alone. Everyone already has their groups (and because the housing is off-campus apartments) there are no freshman, sophomore, junior, senior living so we are all mixed together which can make it more difficult to make friends. The school does offer lots of activities to go to though.
BYUI is a great school if you’re looking for a more spiritual experience in education. It’s a smaller university and class sizes are smaller than other institutions (the largest class I’ve been in had 45 people). Most classes I’m in have 10 to 20 people which allows for more one-on-one time with the professors and a more immersive environment. The school is also very diverse with many people of different backgrounds and ethnicities, so it’s very accepting. If you are not religious, this school might not be a good fit. Some people might find the rules strict (such as the dress code, mandatory church attendance, or adherence to Christian commandments).
Really great environment with very knowledgeable professors. There are a lot of rules to follow but that is because it is a church school. There are many campus events to get to know everyone. The student body is very involved. All the professors care about the student individually and will check up a lot. Overall, a great undergraduate school and I have loved my time here so far!
This college is amazing! The campus is very personal and it feels like they truly care about their students. Classes are usually smaller so you can connect with your professor and other students better. There are always new ways to get involved and they help students branch out so they can succeed in the future. Wonderful place to learn and grow.
It's a very good school. It's smaller in size and you are able to form personal connections with professors. They are very student focused to help them learn real world skills. It's a religious school which is good if you are looking for that. The students here are great, they have high character and work ethic. One thing that is difficult is transferring credits to/from other schools sometimes doesn't work due to the differences in classes.
Brigham Young University - ID is a great place to get an education when you are a religious student. Although, I am religious, it was hard for me to focus on classes when a lot of the teachers base their education around LDS church teachings. It was hard to focus when a principle or doctrine of their church was also being taught at the same time.
A lot of the classes are oversized and hard to find one on one time with professors. Tutoring center was hard to use while taking online classes. A lot of times there was no option of tutoring for the online class. Very frustrating when you are taking Chemistry or Anatomy online but don't have the same resources available as on campus students.

I am grateful for the many amazing teachers and professors I had. The classrooms are small enough that you can connect with them and get your questions answered. A lot of my classmates and roommates were some of the most amazing people I've met. I was sad to leave them once I graduated. The one department at the school that is horrible, was International Services. As an international student, I was treated like trash whenever I had to go to their office. It is so bad that the one place I though I would be welcome, was in fact the place I avoided the most. Other than that, I love the environment and culture at BYU-Idaho.
I worked on my generals at BYU-I before transferring to a different university. The atmosphere is focused on religion and preparation for the work force. The professors are focused on student success rather than research and getting published. This sets the tone for a more friendly and less competitive environment.
Brigham Young University - Idaho is a very welcoming school with a great community and lots of fun things to participate in threw out your collage experience.
Being a student at BYU-I has been a great and new experience for me. I’m getting my bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering here at BYU-I and entered the program with an associates from a local community college in my home state. I still remember arriving to my apartment right across from campus about an hour after sunset, saying goodbye to my parents, meeting roommates, and going to I-night which the school set-up. I like that everything on campus is close, that it is a religious school and that most students, and professors I meet will share that religion with me. If I could change anything it would be that classes could be two hours twice a week instead of an hour once a week. As well as change what is considered a full course load by the school which right now is 4-6 classes a semester which is really just a quarter. I feel like that would allow students to focus on a singular subject better than jumping from multiple high level subjects multiple times a day.
