Brescia University Reviews
Rating 3.85 out of 5 161 reviews
I love BU! There is a great school of business, with fantastic professors. The business school is also in the newest building on campus. The Field center has plenty of technology, comfortable study spaces, and access to vending. What more can a commuter asked for? The small class size is great for a more personalized learning experience. You really get to build a relationship with your professors especially the one in your field. They get to know you and how you work best, make the learning process efficient. Brescia University is located in downtown Owensboro (KY), that makes it easy to be part of the community both personal land professionally! There is Fridays after Five down by the river. The only difficulty thing is getting those prime parking spots, but that’s true for any college. Brescia also has great connections with the local businesses community. Those connections provide countless opportunities for students to expand networking and gain internship and job opportunities.
I think Brescia is an overlooked gem in Kentucky. It is very small, but there are a lot of benefits that come with that. It feels like home, you know every face on campus. You really get to know your professors. Owensboro is a great small city with plenty of things to do. Brescia does a good job of holding activities for the student body (bingo nights, casino nights, movies on the lawn, ice skating, bowling...those are some of the events I've participated in while I've been here). The merit scholarships they offer are good and I was able to get an athletic scholarship and private scholarships...so my freshmen year didn't cost me anything. Brescia is also the only private college I know of that offers a Comm Science and Disorders (Speech Pathology) undergrad degree. Their are several majors to choose from; Biology, Education, and Business seem to be popular. My main complaints, the caf food isn't the best! Also, my new dorm is great but the other dorms need upgrades.
I attend Brescia University online as a social work student. My experience thus far has been exceptional. The professors are very knowledgeable and are so open and willing to share that knowledge with the students. The reading material assigned for the courses is perfect and contributes well to what the courses teach. There's a lot of interaction with my other peers and professor in the discussion boards which I love because it allows me to discuss different topics with a wide range of people. This allows me to not only share my opinion with others, but it also opens up my mind to other perspectives and learn new things. The live chats are also effective at contributing to my education. The professors do a wonderful job at challenging us, asking us questions, and sharing their knowledge. There's also a lot of input from the students in the live chats that allow for discussion and different viewpoint. I am also pleased with how their online platform is set up. It's easy to navigate.
