I loved BCTC before I even started attending there. I was having issues applying to attend BCTC in the fall, so I went to the campus and the ladies at the front desk were so sweet and helped me finish my application. When I was accepted I received a "Congratulations" text, which was super sweet. I attend the Danville campus, which is much smaller than the Lexington campus, but I love that. It feels a lot more one-on-one and personal. They also provide snacks and coffee in the mornings. BCTC also has many resources for its students. Going to BCTC is also very affordable. Ms. Emily helps make my schedule and she offers me classes that she thinks would be good for me. Ms. Emily also helped me reach out to other professors to help better my education. Both the Danville and Lexington campus workers have been super sweet and helpful. I am very happy with my choice.
The school in general is very communicative. The staff and facility want the students to be successful and accomplished in their goals. They are helpful with supporting students and encouraging them to go above and beyond in and out of the classroom.
My instructors have been extremely helpful and knowledgeable. There are many fun community events for students, as well as partnership opportunities.
This was a very good school in my personal opinion. A great way to get gen-Ed classes out of the way for a lower cost compared to other four year institutions. Professors and instructors are very personal, for the most part, and want to get to know you and make sure you understand the content.
It’s my first year of college and so far my advisor and teachers have been very great it’s a small class with very few students! Definitely a nice school
I started attending BCTC in fall of 2021 and i have never had a major problem with them. Everything has been smooth sailing when it comes to choosing classes with my advisors and getting help with filling out financial aid. They really make sure that they know what you need and try everything in their ability to accustom to you. The school is great and filled with very understanding/helpful people.
Great Professors! Good transition from the pace and workload of high school into college. It's campus is an open campus so people just come and go from school to work or home or vice versa. Clean and safe campus, work space if you want to stay and work.
Bluegrass community college is a great place to start you academic career. I begin taking BCTC dual credit classes in my junior year of high school. Because of the dual credit classes, I was able to earn an associates degree after my first year out of high school. Because BCTC is a smaller college, they offer smaller class sizes in which allows for better relationships with the professors. The professors at BCTC listen to you and help in every way they can. I will forever advocate for Bluegrass Community & Technical College!
As a non-traditional student, BCTC is well worth the time and energy. I am a mom of three and an Army Spouse. The classes are flexible and structured.
BCTC is overall a great school, it is affordable, accessible, the teachers that I’ve had have been easy to communicate with. One improvement I would like to see made would be communication with the school in general. It is hard to get someone knowledgeable in financial aid etc on the phone
I love BCTC. The whole experience has been wonderful so far. I don’t feel like a number. I feel seen and cared for. Each staff member I have come into contact with, overall, has been very kind and knowledgeable. These people know what they are doing! I appreciate the small class sizes, buildings, and classrooms. It feels more homey to me, rather than a grey, cold environment. A bit like a warm hug when I walk in the doors or log onto the website. I have found the advisors and the student center to be very helpful. I was like a deer in headlights when I first started anything having to do with college, but the staff in these positions have helped guide me in the right direction. It has been neat to see it all unfold in front of me, whereas I felt I would be walking in the dark. I would 100% recommended BCTC to a friend or anyone looking to begin or further their career. I think they would agree with me and my opinions on BCTC once they step foot in the building for the first time!
After my graduation of high school, I was not seeing my future in any other college. Just working at Walmart made me more unmotivated about my future and the lack of motivation towards my future made me depressed. However, my friend who is planning to go to BCTC, offered me to go with him. Even if I did not know what I wanted to do, BCTC gave me different types of programs. It is the turning point of my life, and it will be the first step towards the real world. Thank you BCTC!
I really loved the teachers here at this college. They care about the students and really help you succeed!!
I love everything at BCTC. From the professors, to the classmates, they all make you feel very welcomed and known that you are here for an amazing education.
I have had a lot of amazing teachers at Bluegrass. The community is extremely helpful, and the price is great! The campuses are easy to navigate, and accesible. I really enjoyed my time here, and suggest this college for anyone not sure of what they want to do yet.
All professors are very helpful if you have any questions about certain material they teach or anything else. BCTC offers online or on campus classes and is great for both. They make college seem not so scary.
I've been able to work full-time and go to school full-time and get a degree in architectural technology! Couldn't be more happy about my choice to pursue this degree. I always recommend to people outside of the school to go to BCTC to further their education
