Bluefield University is a Christ-centered learning community preparing servant leaders. Holding many best rankings like being known for its affordability, low debt burden for graduates, service to military personnel, and a beautiful campus in the Appalachian Mountains of southwest Virginia. We serve as the academic home for nearly 1,000 students on-campus and online. Bluefield University is Christian in outlook, Baptist in tradition, and welcoming to each person. Over 70 programs of study, all accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, are offered at the undergraduate and graduate levels. I enjoyed my time online at Bluefield University, and found it very useful to me. However, there were some classes that could have improved in many ways. For instance, there was one professor whose presentations were oftentimes unreadable due to the font or design choices, and it made it more difficult to absorb some of the material. Additionally, I felt at times like there was no room for disagreement or personal opinions on subjective matters dealt with in text books. However, overall I do not regret my experience and I thoroughly enjoyed many of my classes. The online community of students was extremely friendly and inviting, and I never had a negative experience with the discussion boards. The Canvas set up was easy to use, and I appreciated their dedication to Christian principles and moral values. They took these things very seriously, especially when it came to topics like plagiarism and cheating. The University opened my mind to many new ideas and helped me discover myself.
I like the nature surrounding Bluefield University. Those mountains are not only gorgeous views, but they help the students to maintain their mental health well being. The academic curriculum is in a wide variety of choices. The students have options to fill other dreams and the opportunities to thrive to the highest level of education with all the support and encouragement. If there needs to be a change, I would say to build a specific lab for cybersecurity students so they can have the chance to further their knowledge not only in class but also in real life.
Everyone is so helpful and patient. My instructors are great and make sure to address any of my concerns. I will definitely be completing my masters degree at this college!
