As a transfer student to Bethel College, I was shocked to experience such a culture of support and community that I was greeted with upon my arrival on campus. The positivity and school pride that engulfs the atmosphere at any campus event whether its an athletic event, musical, or even convocation every Monday is unmatched. I made the right decision by going to Bethel College, because it feels great to be surrounded by staff and other students that value you as a person and want to see you succeed. The only thing I would like to see changed is remodeling of the residential facilities and additions to the athletic facilities.
It's very open, loving, and definitely community oriented. This school does what they can to get us students involved in helping and making imprints on our community. They also are very welcoming, accepting, and loving in general. They have an amazing LGBTQ+ community and club that assist in helping those who may have felt left out by society feel included. They also have an active club relating to women which hands out free sanitary supplies and educational seminars for any gender. The Student Government Association addresses student's concerns in a timely manner, and does what it can to advocate for the student body. I love my time here, and I'll be proud to graduate a Bethel Thresher.
It is a very small college of only 500 students. But nonetheless a very highly ranked college for both their sports teams and music and educational programs and their nursing programs. If you are looking into any of those 4 areas this is a great place to do that, especially if you like small tight knit communities with small faculty to student ratios. Not to mention Bethel is incredibly inclusive to people of all types and backgrounds even in sports and music. They seek to help you succeed above all else. The downsides are, the buildings can be outdated, which is quite unfortunate, especially for freshman living on campus as the freshman dorm is the worst. Also it is an incredibly small school, and while that may be a plus to some it may be a negative to many.
