I am in my second semester and as as full-time worker as well as a part-time student, I am very happy with my decision to complete my schooling here! The students and staff are VERY diverse, not only in race and creed but also in what we each bring to the table and our experiences in our fields. I LOVE the fact that we have created a safe and friendly culture as well as one that promotes learning and understanding. Having these values and this type of trust really motivates me to continue to be the best nurse I can be because of the people and community I will be helping.
For nursing degree, I preferred in person classes, but due to this current Covid19 pandemic, I fully understand the reason that studying online limits us from exposure to the disease. Their are advantages to studying online. It gives me flexibility of time as well as conservation of time and gas money. I did not have to drive 30 minutes or more to school and that commute time enable me to have extended study and homework time. Furthermore, as a full-time student with limited financial resources, less driving decreases car fuel expenditure. Having to learn to navigate in the complexities of web pages, online applications and other resources on the internet actually prepare me for professional researched papers that I may have to do in the next terms of this nursing course. Personally, online study may not be perfect but it yielded many positive outcomes.
I appreciate the one-on-one teachers' and students' conferences. The school's peer groups and tutorials available for each student struggling academically make me as a student feel supported and valued. Most of the professors are very approachable and understanding. The academic schedule I have just been through was very intensive but the school gives much assistance to students who need help to succeed. In the Covid Era of nursing education which does not allow many people face-to-face interactions, the school has managed to continue giving students as much as possible necessary experiences to prepare for actual nursing work. The school has endeavored to continued its nursing programs and in a safe way. I have only been here for a term and despite the intenseness of the studies, I do not regret that I enrolled in this school. I am thankful that I have been accepted to continue my dream to become a full registered nurse and be able to serve people as well as my own family.
