Baptist Health System School of Health Professions Reviews
Rating 4.18 out of 5 62 reviews
So, I chose this school bc of the retention rate, which was 92% for 20-21 and NCLEX pass rate was 96%, but when I found out the retention rate for 21-22 was 78% and the NCLEX pass rate was only 85%, I felt lied to. 140 students attended but only 81 graduated. This infuriated me bc attending here I can see why. Its very disorganized! One professor will contradict another, the platform they use is god awful difficult to use, study guides are more like objective outlines. Not useful at all. There are no tutors to help support your success, no advisors, and no real resources. They are a very small school, but with the amount of money your paying it almost makes you wonder where it is all going. If your debating this school, really think about what you need, bc your not going to get a lot of support here. Not to mention you can only fail one class once and then your kicked out. Which, they are constantly reminding you only adding stress to your already stressful life.
I enjoy going to school here. All fields of nursing are having trouble finding staff right now and academia is not exempt from that. Our instructors seem like they are spread a little thin sometimes, but they are phenomenal nurses. Each of them brings something a little different to the table, which I appreciate. All nursing programs are taught by NURSES… and while most are great at their profession, they might not be the most organized TEACHERS. But that’s just part of the deal with nursing school. Its important in any nursing program to work hard and take responsibility for your own education, because your instructors don’t spoon feed you. The self-motivation and discipline you learn here is what makes great nurses. The reviews stating this school does not offer tutoring are correct, but there’s a strong sense of community within your cohort. There is only one student led group on campus & they’re pretty small. Most students are nontraditional. Program is expensive but no waitlist.
I am a first year student here and so far I am pretty fond of all the choices and career paths the school has for their future students. The only thing I am worried about is the success here, they only offer one chance to fail a course, and after that you are immediately kicked out. I understand that it is a very competitive school, and very blessed to be enrolled here but am worried about my chances of success if I were to do not so well one semester. I do wish they had a tutoring service like other schools and a bigger library so that all students who chooses to study at school may do so without reserving one ahead of time.
