Most of the online classes do not have teachers, instead they have TAs, but the class is taught by video recording of a teacher taken quite a few years ago. This can make the classes frustrating due to not being able to ask the person who wrote the tests/assignments questions. Otherwise the online classes are very flexible and easy.
I felt very supported and enjoyed my time as an online student at Arizona Sate University. My academic advisor was supportive, helpful and understanding. She added such a nice touch my experience as student. The University itself has strong programs and I would recommend them to everyone.
I love learning online with ASU. Since I work a full-time job as well, I have been able to manage both school and work on my own time. I have been an online student since I started school and it has been incredibly beneficial to my learning. I feel as if I am still getting the same experience as an on campus student. My professors are extremely helpful and passionate about helping me achieve my education goals. I would personally stick to online if I had the option to do so for graduate school.
ASU online has been very friendly and welcoming on helping me pursue my dreams. Helped me all things necessary to start class and to my desired major. Some things I would like to see change and honestly it’s most likely for all schools is the separation that online students have. I have to wait so long to make an appointment with either finance or an academic advisor. Just feels distant when it comes to things I need a real person to talk too. I’m not sure if these advisors are solely online advisors for online students but it somehow the process can be faster it would be amazing.
I like the option to take my classes online as it allows me to have a job and pay for college and stay close to my family and not worry about paying for housing and tuition
Having the classes online. Means that I am able to completely focus on school and when I have problems with my. Classes I am able to ask for help from my coach. I do kind of wish that the school could set up a campus of sorts in dc. That way students, like myself, that need housing are able to have somewhere to live. While also being able to stay connected and get the full college experience. Not just taking classes online.
Before attending ASU, I got used to the online setting and working on my courses from home because of COVID-19. I appreciate how many resources are still offered to me, even as an online student. I still receive assistance both in person and on the phone when needed. It makes organization a lot easier for me since I have all my coursework in one place.
Overall it has been a great experience at Arizona State University. The academic advisors and success coaches are amazing! They really give effort in caring for you as a student. The only thing I would like to change is if there could be a bit more description given about how the classes are conducted in certain classes, which can be read over by the student before they fully commit to the class. This would have the students make an informed decision on whether or not they think the class will work for their schedule and lifestyle before the class commitment. But so far, great experience!
Flexibility in your education. However, educational costs are high and online does not offer the same engagements as in-person classes.
There are a lot of programs to choose from, and the scheduling is really flexible with mostly asynchronous courses. But there are cheaper options for online degrees, and the advisors sometimes are not helpful, at all.
The things I like best about Arizona State is their online program. As someone who works full time and is raising a family, it gives me the flexibility to balance my personal life, work, and school. I would like to see a change in degree specific scholarships offered by the school.
I enjoy the flexibility of ASU online, so I can earn my degree and work simultaneously. The professors are heavily involved and it feels like I’m receiving the same attention and care I’d be getting on campus.
ASU Online is NOT for those who have full-time jobs or demanding lives, or at least this was my experience with their online STEM degree programs. There's a reason these courses are 16 weeks in person, and putting these courses into seven weeks for online students does not promote learning; rather, it promotes short-term memorization. Some core classes feel like they lack the value that I paid for them, with 360p lecture videos in some instances. I'm currently enrolled, but unsure if I will continue since I want to genuinely learn and respect the material rather then have it shoved down one throat at an unrealistic and unreasonable timeline. STEM classes need time and practice to learn, and seven weeks in replacement for an entire semester does not respect that. I don't recommend a STEM degree at this school for this reason.
I'm loving the experience so far and happy of the cooperation and guidance that is available to me from ASU. I could be happier with the degree that I chose due to my love and passion of making a difference.
I feel like Arizona has really perfected the online curriculum. It has many students who attend this way, and it still is able to flawlessly provide a top-notch education for each of us.
My experience at ASU has been remarkable. I transferred from another school that was nice but was not the right fit for me. This school is very hands on and I am getting the help I need whether it’s tutors or advisors. They have helped keep my on track to make sure I am taking the right courses to graduate and check in frequently. I wish I ad transferred sooner; they have helped me enjoy the college experience more.
I have learned a lot at ASU. I am currently studying Forensic Psychology, minoring in Behavior Analysis, and I'm apart of the honors college. The advisors, professors, and other staff have been the best and most kind people to talk to. The only reason why I don't give this place five stars is due to miscommunication with their financial aid offices, as well as having a few mix ups in the past year.
