I am graduate of this university. The knowledge they give used to be good but not anymore. A lot of good lecturers were sacked. University became all about US students and all about sucking up as much money as they can. Currently, university is offering “student housing” at 190% of the real housing price if you rent dormitory directly. “Not for profit” university as they claim, definitely not for profit…
I love the small community feel of the school, but there is an overall lack of funding that creates difficulties for both staff and students. The faculty care deeply and there are a lot of passionate learners, but overall the school just lacks something and I think it stems from financials.
This school is a wonderful opportunity if you want to experience studying abroad with a bit of a cushion. The Czech Republic is, in general, very friendly for an English speaker, and the campus is also easy to navigate. However, the school's size does come with its limitations. The club sizes can be rather small, and the expenses aren't, as of now, covered through the FAFSA, which can make it difficult to afford, even if the tuition is typically less than a U.S. university.
Anglo-American University is a great value for a higher degree and is in a beautiful location in Prague. The school is small so you get to know your classmates well. There are also several clubs and activities on campus if you are into extracurricular activities. I didn't stay in the dorms, but have heard mixed review about them. Most students only stay for the first semester then find alternate housing.
It was an average education. It’s main pros we’re that it was in English and is financially accessible through the scholarship it provides. Everyone is nice and helpful.
Absolutely the best experience a student can ask for. AAU is located right in the center of Europe, Prague is a stunning city with many opportunities. This university introduced me to people from all over the world, from Canada to New Zealand, finding not only future friends but also possible networking connections. Professors are very engaging and, thanks to small size classrooms, make sure to acknowledge every student’s needs and wants. If you’re an adventure seeking individual, AAU is the place for you!
An amazing campus and university with great teachers and well-thought classes. The buildings are really beautiful, and the university is really well situated in Prague.
I am currently in my first year at AAU and have only been attending for a couple months but it has been the best couple months. The location of the school is amazing and allows for many field trips in historical buildings. The teachers have been helping adapt to living in a new place and starting college. I also really enjoy all of the events the school puts on such as professors in the pub, spirit week, the welcome back barbecue, and I am looking forward to homecoming. It is incredibly diverse, with students from all over the world and it makes it super fun and interesting to learn about new places and cultures. Overall I absolutely love Anglo American University so far and I am thrilled to be spending the next three years there.
Overall, AAU provides a meaningful education with its small class sizes, allowing for deeper connections with professors and classmates, and the tailoring of schedules to each student's personal needs. The professors are clearly passionate about their subjects, making the learning experience more enjoyable. Furthermore, despite the university being quite small, there are numerous clubs and events to get involved with. One thing in particular I wish was different, however, is the prioritization of financial aid over merit-based scholarships. While tuition is relatively affordable compared to universities in the United States, there are few to no options for financial aid.
I wouldn’t recommend. The teachers are the worst. Prague itself is great and location of uni is very central. How ever the education is ridiculously bad and also so expensive? Simply not worth it
I came to AAU as a graduate student in international relations. I wanted to find a good university outside of the United States that could provide me with a diverse, international perspective, and AAU filled the role. It has been great getting to learn about my field in a much different part of the world, at a time where international relations is becoming very relevant. The professors a great, and the institution has a great small school vibe that doesn’t take away from its location in Prague.
It's amazing going to a different country and experiencing its culture. I think being able to go to a smaller college allows for you to slow down and really go at your own pace.
So far I have loved my experience at Anglo-American. The faculty has worked hard to make online learning accessible, interactive and entertaining for their students. AAU does a great job connecting their students and preparing them for post-grad. I lived in student housing for my first semester and it was a great way to meet other students, and the accommodation itself is really nice! My one complaint is that they don't participate in FAFSA, as an American student that would be really helpful. Otherwise AAU is great! You can't beat the location and the campus is stunning!
Anglo-American University is a small, yet diverse university in the heart of Prague. As soon as I attended orientation, I felt at home, a feeling I had not felt so quickly, if at all, at other school. AAU has amazing staff that care about you not just academically, but as a person. They want to see you succeed and do well physically and mentally. It's only my first year at AAU, but I can already say with certainty that I will never regret my decision to come here, because I have never found a school that would fit me better than AAU.
The marketing and business knowledge that I received there have become a great base for my career future! It was a great experience in finding myself as a professional.
I enjoyed my time at AAU very much! I started studying at AAU in February 2015 and graduated in June 2018. The campus is absolutely beautiful and the location is convenient.
I loved that AAU hosted many BBQ's, parties, pub quizzed and other social events that allowed students to blow off steam and provided wonderful opportunities to connect with others.
All the professors that I had were very kind, professional and overall the classes were very engaging.

The admin was very good, explaining in detail how to sign up for classes, what clubs where available, where to get help, etc. There was a good variety of classes with well-educated professors.
AAU is a small community and as such helped me foster close friendships. Because of the small community the classes were intimate and I always managed to her the help I needed
My experience was great! I came in as a transfer student and getting my credits accepted was not a problem. I really enjoyed some of my smaller class sizes, this allowed the class to build a better relationship with the instructor which made it easier to ask questions and join class discussions.
I enjoyed the diversity of students and professors and their teaching techniques. Also, I liked seeing the university grow and prosper
