American Public University System is a great school to attend. One reason for that is because it is challenging. From learning how to manage time to learning how to write, APUS would challenge you to hone these skills. At APUS your writing skills are enhanced every week, as written communication is a core feature of this institution. In addition, your management skills are also enhance because studying online is not as easily manageable as it is often assumed. Online institutions require more student participation than traditional institutions. As such, your management skills are enhanced. Attending APUS is a wise choice!

I love this university. It is affordable, its resources are up-to-date, and it is enjoyable. I am currently undergoing graduate coursework. My graduate degree is space studies with an emphasis in aerospace science. Each course is eight weeks, so the students enrolled simply have to focus on one course instead of having multiple courses spread out through a semester. It is not easy, nor should it be. The workload is intense. I often read about 250 pages a week for just one course. I find myself ascertaining knowledge though faster than I had thought practicable. For that I am grateful. The only thing I would like to see improved is tech support. One individual had me install the wrong software. Still, I highly recommend this university!
Some of the professors are absolutely amazing! I also love that the school is entirely online which is incredibly convenient for me. My biggest issues are their financial aid department, and their lack of adequately updating their coursework.

First - I missed three...THREE months of school, because the financial aid department would not update my FAFSA award despite me doing everything as I was supposed to, on my end. They did nothing to remedy their massive mistake.

Second - Their class - ISSC342 - Operating Systems: Hardening and Security - is so incredibly outdated, that literally all of the information they are teaching about, is moot. It does not relate anymore and it will help zero students with anything unless they want to teach about the ancient history of OS hardening and security...which was not supposed to be the point of the class.

I have emailed so many employees of this school about their outdated courses and either I was ignored by the higher ups, or I got told that they (the employees - i.e - professors, academic advisors, etc.) had no idea what was going on with it and they never went to remedy the massive issue.

Other than that HUGE issue and WASTE of MONEY - I like the convenience of having an online school.
