I love the small close knit community. It's provided me a chance to continue to pursue athletics while also getting prepared for the field I desire.
I’m a recent grad of Acphs and I would never recommend anyone to go here. I struggled in school because of the teachers lack of organization and constant turnover. Some professors were so bad that once I knew they were teaching I would just immediately skip class. I also have struggled after graduating because they did not adequately prepare me. Anybody seriously considering this school, if you’re looking at the pharmacy profession I would seriously reconsider. If you’re positive about pharmacy, then look at better schools. Look up the past years NAPLEX pass rates to pick a good school.
ACPHS has great faculty and staff, internship opportunities, MCAT prep, atmosphere, and support. Every student has three advisors (faculty, class, and program director advisors), and if you are pre-med, you have a fourth.
The overall experience at the school was pretty good. The school is pretty small so it was easy to ask the professors for additional help during office hours. The school also had a tutoring center which help provide additional support to the students when they couldn’t attend office hours.
You have to be very focused and determined if you want to succeed at this institution. It is important that if you are struggling you reach out. My best advice would be to get involved on campus so you are able to meet more people and find your place.
I love it! The campus is so clean, they have great food, and the professors and students are so nice, they make you feel like you belong. It is a bit small, so if you’re looking for a school with a close community, this is the place for you!
Small classes make getting to know professors and other students well! Great majors and there are many resources to get help whenever you need it.
This should be your last option as a college. The professors here are terrible. The staff only cares about making money and keeping their jobs. This school is supposed to be very prestigious but most professors come and go every two years some coming from very terrible colleges. If you also want anything at all related to a social life you won’t find it here there’s no Greek life no party’s and everything related to having a good time is looked down upon.
I went to ACPHS recently, as I attended their fall open house for 2022. It was amazing, way better than I could have ever imagined. The faculty were so helpful and passionate with their roles in the school, and the students were so welcoming to the students touring that day it was amazing. It was like they really know how to make you feel like family, and it was only an open house! I am very serious about a career as an ER doctor, and going to ACPHS seemed like the perfect fit for someone invested in medicine. The majors and curriculum were very appetizing, they sounded so interesting yet challenging (as the medical field is)! It is definitely a 10/10 college for me, due to the close knit community & the welcomeness they give to everyone coming through the doors! As a pre-med student wanting to stay close to home, I cannot think of a better college to attend. On the plus side as well, Albany Medical College and Albany Health Center are right across the street!
Students work closely with microbial agents and discover the field of microbiology, chemotherapy, and diverse historical background of science fields in an intense but fascinating environment.
ACPHS has been a great experience so far. I was recruited to the school for basketball and to major in public health. I am enjoying the smaller class size and getting to know my professors on a more personal level. The on campus dining hall is pretty good and the dorms are clean and roomy. I look forward to my time at ACPHS.
It’s a small school, so everyone’s pretty nice in it. All the staff and professors are super approachable, friendly, and helpful. The food is okay. Not a super big campus
This school is very demanding but has many people to help out. The teachers are pretty helpful, but some to not seem to be as helpful.
The school is generally good. I believe most professors have student interest in mind and make themselves available to those who need help. I will say that the relationship between students and faculty is a little rocky, especially since COVID-19.
*Extreme lack of diversity. Not the place to be as a person of color.
*The school is great for Pharmacy as that is its primary focus. If being a Pharmacist is what you aspire to be, then it will provide you with a solid path/foundation, however, if you plan to major in the Health Sciences area, I would advise against it as those areas don't have as many resources.
*The campus is dreary and dull. Every weekend, it looks like a ghost town because the majority of people leave. The campus has a depressing aura and there is no real social life/aspect. However, if academics are your main focus, you would most likely thrive. If you have a cushy financial package, then certainly come here, save your money and stay focused, then leave and never look back.
*There is an interesting variety of professors. Some care about student success/progress and some really don't. You need to be proactive to find genuine mentors.

At first I wasn’t happy but eventually I started to find myself and make friends. The campus is great and a small community . The local town is nice and has several places to go. Everyone in the college is helpful whether is be academic advisors to upper classmates.
The college was good. I feel unprepared to enter my final year of rotations and to graduate. The pandemic pushing learning online really did not help matters. One professor, in particular, I had an issue learning from and so did my classmates. He was horrific at teaching and it took numerous times reporting him to the administration and department chairs for anything to be done about it.
I loved the campus of the school. I also loved the work options they have. They have different events, and sports teams. Great for Pharmacy students.
This college does not care about furthering your education. They take every bit of drive and motivation and happiness, and throw it out the window by giving unfair assessments and continuously showing that no matter how hard you try, your efforts are not enough. The sole purpose of 98% of the professors here is to make money; they don't care if you learn the material, and don't even present it in an understandable manner, they simply throw information out and expect you to get it. If you ask for help, you're perceived as stupid, but if you don't get material on an exam, you're even stupider, and should just consider dropping out. There is no winning at this university. It takes every shred of goodness about a person and throws it in their face. I do not recommend coming to this university unless you want to face constant criticism, and ridicule by professors, and a lack of finding anything that brings you happiness, because nothing good is offered here.
It was a mistake coming to this school. Before you decide to attend, they make it seem like such a great school and pretend that there is a support system. Well, this was all wrong. There is absolutely no one to help you when you are struggling and the professors do not listen to students' opinions. They don't care if you're failing and about to drop out. The campus is small so everyone is cliquey and gossipy. The food is absolutely disgusting and everyone I know got food poisoning at least once from the cafeteria food.
It truly is miserable here, and if you care about your mental health in the slightest, don't come here.
