AHU is a very small Christian health-focused university. The faculty and staff are all very kind and genuinely supportive, unlike many universities are. The students also practice Christian faith so if you are someone who appreciates church and religion, this would be a good school for you.
I started at AdventHealth university in 2019 and got accepted into their nursing program in fall of 2020. Overall this school is amazing. However it is extremely competitive. This school has made me grow my spirituality, self discipline, Professionalism and academics. The professors go above and beyond to help their students succeed. They provide free counseling for every student. There students health and mental health is at their top priority along with their students safety. Their student housing is amazing. There is a gate that is locked at all time and the only way in is with a key fob. The apartments are two bedroom apartment with one full bath. There is a laundry room right down stairs. There is a student lounge where a gym and game room are located. This school is not a party school there extremely strict on rules. However, all of these protocols are so they see their students succeed. Adventhealth university is for only medical students there are no sports teams.
The school overall is very well run and the student-teacher ratio is very small meaning that the instructors are able to get to know their students and provide an individualised education to each student. The programs are well run and because the school is part of the AdventHealth system students are virtually guaranteed a job in their respective field after graduation. The only major improvement that could be done in my opinion would be to lower the cost of attendance, though it is on par with other private schools in the state.
