Academy of Cosmetology - Merritt Island Reviews
I’m a current massage therapy student, and I’m glad I chose AOC-Merritt Island compared others in Brevard Co. and Orlando. Several ortho doctors and chiros that I asked for referrals to schools had all mentioned AOC as top-notch due to Dir/Lead Instructor Shandra Artura. Now, I know why. I have no back pain due to proper body mechanics and adv techniques not typically taught at other schools. It may be a cosmetology school focused with hair, but the massage program is top-tier. Just because you see bad reviews due to other things or 3 year old reviews with no relevance ... you WILL receive a top-notched massage student from the school as of 2019. Ask other people that still go there as clients. They’ll agree. Don’t punish the students just because of something that has nothing to do with current status of the program. The building, location, management, and the owner don’t make the program. The MT students and the instructors are what make the massage program, bottom-line.
Not sure what the other reviewers were saying... but this is located in North MI in a great part of town... and the small class sizes really help with individualized attention! I've learned a lot so far and truly feel that I'm being given the tools needed to excel in the beauty profession!
Its ok. My class consisted of a girl with limited English, a stripper, and a high school drop out. Only 4 people in the class.
