The quality of experience is with the Instructors. They are real executives and real Producers and real Writers. No phony baloney instructors with nothing to prove they have actually worked in films, created them, directed them, wrote the feature or the television show. This semester one of my teachers is Nana Greenwald who worked at Disney as Development Producer, at Industry Entertainment as Executive Producer, at Kopelson Entertainment as Vice President from 1989-95 & 97-2001 as President of Creative Affairs where she produced "Don't say a Word" "A Perfect Murder" "Seven" "Outbreak" "The Fugitive" "Falling Down" and too many films to mention here.

The experience was amazing, to be in SF and having experienced instructors to teach is great! I've learned so much and have improved drastically from knowing nothing to making something decent with my skill sets. It definitely helps to have someone guide you and tell you what you need to know instead of trying to find the answer(s) SOMEHOW by yourself with self-help youtube tutorials.
I love this school. Since I started attending five years ago, it has opened my eyes to all sorts of knowledge about not only art fundamentals (form, perspective, shape, shading, etc.), but also about my specified field in illustration (focused on digital painting). I would not be the artists I am today without this experience. It is expensive, but so worth it. I have poured over YouTube tutorials and Udemy courses for years and none of them hold a candle to the insight and training I obtained at AAU. If you really want to be at the top of your game and be trained by real artists in the industry (some of my professors were Alumni from Pixar and gaming companies), then you should really consider going here. I recommend it, unreservedly.
