I have not attended any classes yet at Academy of Art University Online, but my experience with applying has been phenomenal. My advisor checks in almost every week to make sure that I am doing well and that I am accomplishing various steps toward attending classes. Everyone I have talked to has been amazingly kind and helpful. They have made the application process easy and I know there are many people to help me during classes if needed. From what I have learned and experienced so far, I wouldn't change anything.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my communications thus far with the staff and faculty at this university, they put in extra time and effort well beyond any other school I've attended and they are so kind and helpful. They've made it easy for me to get started as a student and helped me confirm that this field is the one I want to get into and the best school I could have chosen.
I was military and a mom so all my classes were online and I can say that I like being online for the most part. Sometimes that time difference was a problem because I can't talk to professors when I need to but other than that it was a fun and enjoyable experience.
I enjoyed learning so much new information. I enjoyed the independence of the course but can be very difficult to do when you need outside help but limited to the access of your instructors. I would like there to be more virtual sessions.
The classes and teachers are very creative & insightful. The pace is a bit much if you don't have time dedicated to just classes.
Hello, so far I like the setup of the online classes. It's user friendly. I would like the university to set the class modules to read to students with visual challenges. It's definitely move at your own speed, which helps those who work full or part-time
I was a bit skeptical of completing school online but after the first couple of zoom classes I was so much more comfortable. The teachers (most of them) really do care about your success and wanting to see you improve as an artist.
I like the fact that the schedule and pacing are something that I have control over. At a college I attended previously, I had no real control over my schedule and because of that, I've had to sacrifice a lot for education. With AAU, I can get an education but also work and go about things that take up my time and attention. I don't really think there is anything they can change, other than the app. It's slow and sometimes it freezes.
The lessons and even the homework is easy to understand and has a well organized way of teaching. It is easy to navigate and has a flexible schedule as long as you submit by the weekly deadline.
My advisors and professors have been extremely helpful and instrumental to my success so far. My advisors stay in regular contact with me to ensure that I am on track, am on top of my payments, and am selecting the necessary courses to complete my Bachelor's degree in a timely fashion. My professors that I have had so far, provide all the necessary material and information so that I can successfully submit my assignments, take the quizzes and tests, and understand and retain the information.
