I Found My Niche at William Jessup University
Student Name: Morgann Goree
School: William Jessup University
“Hi! My name is Morgann Goree, and I am a sophomore at William Jessup University. I am a Psychology major with a minor in American Sign Language, and I LOVE Jessup. I decided in 6th grade I wanted to go to Jessup after I finished the AWANA program at my church and was awarded a $1,000 scholarship to a small list of Christian colleges, one being Jessup. I said then and there to my mom: ‘I want to go to William Jessup University!’ After having visited Jessup multiple times and staying the night, I knew it was the school for me. The community is so much like a family. The food is BOMB. I knew I’d be able to cultivate and grow my faith at school here.
Coming into Jessup, I was a Liberal Studies major, but I switched last spring and I love where I’m at. I chose Psychology because of the Developmental Psychology class I took last spring with Melanie Trowbridge. It connected my passions.
William Jessup is a wonderful school that gives everyone the opportunity to grow in so many ways. For me, one of the things I am currently growing so much in is my faith. All the Bible classes we have available to us are making it possible for me to learn deeply about the One who made us. How cool is that? I’m getting a well-rounded education on regular school things and also in my faith in Jesus. Anyway, all this to say, I love my school!
These are all pictures from various events at Jessup like nationball, which is a big dodgeball event that happens during welcome week, to pictures with my roommate and wingmates, as well as a photo of me with the leadership people and president John Jackson! I was an ambassador and gave tours at Jessup while I was there, and I miss that a lot!” – @morganntwo.ns
