I Found My Niche at Oral Roberts University
Student Name: Amilia Sedin-Chan
School: Oral Roberts University
Major: Public Relations & Advertising
“Hi, my name is Amilia Sedin-Chan! I’m a Public Relations & Advertising major and I’m currently a junior at Oral Roberts University.
My university journey hasn’t been the norm. I first attended a university overseas, but I really didn’t enjoy it at all and didn’t feel that it was a good fit for me. Then I took online classes from other universities while working part-time.
At the time, my mom was wrapping up her doctorate at ORU and I was able to attend her graduation ceremony. During her graduation ceremony, I was so moved by the passion that the students had for their school and the passion that the faculty had for their students. This lead me to officially decide that I wanted to attend ORU and I’ve been here ever since!
To me, ORU is like a home away from home as people are so diverse with over 115 nations being represented by students! (I myself am representing 3 of them alone.)
It’s so amazing getting to know people from nations that are on the other side of the world, or hearing languages that you don’t recognize at all.
