I Found My Niche at Ferris State University
Student Name: Kaeli Besmer
School: Ferris State University
Major: Elementary Education
“I am in my junior year at Ferris State University studying Elementary Education. I fell in love with this field after teaching dance for the past 4 years and working in a daycare while I was in high school. It’s my calling! On top of taking classes, I am also affiliated with my sorority Alpha Sigma Tau where I’ve been granted the opportunities to serve on committees and hold my own positions. Additionally, I work 4 jobs where I teach at 2 dance studios, ArtWorks and Dance With Me by Amber Marie. My other two jobs are with the university as being a Financial Aid Assistant in the Financial Aid Office and a Team Lead for the Orientation Leaders. Because of everything I am involved in and my supportive family back home, I have grown to be a strong independent woman.”—@kaelibesmer

Zoom hasn’t provided me the glimpse into life as a Bluejay that I wanted, but Hopkins feels like a dream already. Baltimore is full of charm, and the people—students, professors, and all—are unbelievably friendly and always willing to lend a hand.

The people here are amazing and the school is awesome. I’m so lucky that I get to cheer on the Tigers at every game and that I get to represent the school in some way.
I Found My Niche at Northwest Nazarene University
Sure enough, I found myself here my freshman year and it took all of one day to integrate myself into campus’ famous community. I say ‘famous’ because if you ask any student what their favorite part of NNU is, they’ll say our community! Fellowship comes naturally here, and I think we owe that to the Christian values our school was founded on.
