I Found My Niche at CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice
Student Name: Arielis Villalona
School: CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice
Major: Criminology
I’m Arielis Villalona, a 20-year-old sophomore studying full-time criminology at John Jay. I’d be delighted to share an honest review of John Jay, including both the good and the not-so-good aspects. Let’s dive in!
John Jay has been a wonderful environment for me as a criminology student. The faculty is knowledgeable and supportive, always encouraging critical thinking and fostering a sense of community. The campus itself is well-maintained and offers various study spaces that cater to different learning styles.
One of the highlights of John Jay is the extensive range of resources available to students. From the well-equipped library to the state-of-the-art research facilities, I’ve never felt lacking in tools to enhance my education. Additionally, the career services department is dedicated to helping students explore internships, job opportunities, and networking events relevant to our field of study.
In terms of the not-so-great aspects, I would mention that at times, it can be challenging to secure certain classes due to limited availability or high demand. However, the faculty and advisors do their best to accommodate students and offer alternative solutions.
Overall, I’m really grateful for my experience at John Jay. It’s been a haven for justice advocates like me, and the support I’ve received has been incredible.
