In this episode you will hear from Katy Spencer Johnson. Katy is a results-focused digital marketing and communications professional with over 9 years of expertise in social media strategy, media relations, editorial, and community management. A certified Social Media Strategist by the National Institute for Social Media, Katy has served in central communications and has worked in higher education, non-profit, and publishing industries.
Currently, Katy is the Social Media Track chair for the Eduweb Digital Summit 2020. She has also presented at EduWeb in 2017 and 2019 on media relations and student centered social media. She has appeared as a guest on the Why I Social and Talks with Thompson podcasts. Katy co-authored “ Social media advocacy framework in action: Focusing on the student journey to inspire real world engagement at Quincy College” for the Journal of Educational Advancement in Marketing (Volume 2 / Number 4 / Spring 2017-18, pp. 354-370)
She still wields a fairly mean editorial red pen and can be found with odd grammatically incorrect tweets on Twitter at @katyb_spencer.
